about

My good friend Jon Francis found a most remarkable venue for our collaborative show in Insectropolis. A bug museum and giant catalyst for creativity. What a cool place with such incredibly dedicated staff. I touched a Madagascar hissing cockroach and had a millipede crawl on my hand. Add music and shadow puppetry to the equation, and we're on to something special. I think the recording captures the vibe in the (colorfully rendered) room effectively. An engaged audience, and Jon's elastic, comprehensive soundworld as foil to my offerings. Jon's energy is infectious (insectious?) and his musicality is thorough, nuanced, and deep, on an array of fascinating soundmakers. A true joy. Jen & Daimon Santa Maria's unbelievably awesome shadow puppets were made just for this show, and inspired what we played...close your eyes and watch daylight give way to hallucinogenic night as the bugs do their interactive dance. Thanks as always for listening.
