For a while I've had the idea to compile a "best of" or "top 10" of my recorded work. With over 200 albums here on Bandcamp, and many more miscellaneous appearances and unreleased material I couldn't quite stick to just 10 (and I don't care to play the favorites game, but alas.) The criteria for selection was studio rather than field or live, and where I was more or less the bandleader (fully acknowledging the intrinsic collaborative nature of concepts & performance contributions). Plus the songs needed to play well together. My work covers a huge range of stylistic territory; necessarily only a partial picture emerges here. My prolificacy has increased exponentially in the last two years for various reasons including though definitely not limited to glaring geopolitical concerns and how to ride the opposing wave. Yet in the spirit of peace and compassion I hope the takeaway is I have been able to create precisely the music I need to over many years with an extraordinary cast of characters. Some names you will recognize and some overwhelmingly deserve wider recognition. All have been integral to the unfolding story of Appalachian Trance Metal. So many more have given their time/energy/heart/soul/support to these endeavors (please check out my other albums with such amazing playing partners), and I am forever grateful. I've been very fortunate...it's a pretty cool playlist which reflects this fully! Thank you for your support, and thanks as always for listening.
