I've known Charlie Rauh since we met at the Aux Festival in Athens in 2010. Instant friends. He is a brilliant musician, and a rarity: a truly melodious improvisor. We've gotten to play together a few times over the years, and it's always been a great fit, even with our very different musical aesthetics. On this night in particular, despite our best promotional efforts, we had a paid audience of precisely one (thank you Cameron Mizell!). But a lovely night it was in the beautiful ShapeShifter Lab space. Our engineer Stephanie Shapiro did a marvelous job capturing our dialogue...and that's what it was...a full performance. Charlie is a complete professional, and there was never any question but to give it our all, mind, body, and soul. It turned out to be one of my favorite gigs ever, and you can hear how we locked in together to transcend thinking and enter feeling. Thanks as always for listening.
