(This is the companion live album to the studio album Lifelike Boy Android. What you hear is what was played, with no edits. The first three tracks are from The Backspace in Hapeville, and the last three tracks are from the following night at ATHICA in Athens.)

While the paint was still wet from our studio recording session, the Vectrexcentricity boys (me, Jamie DeRevere, and Michael Manring) hit the road to play two concerts before live audiences in Hapeville and Athens, both in my home Georgia. Everything came together beautifully in these completely improvised performances. There's on display a formative (and formidable) bond of trust, of knowing, of mutuality, not only between us three, but between each of us and each of the attentive attendees, who are actively participating and encouraging us to go as into the moment of creation as we're able. Our instruments and implements are instrumental as well, responding at turns in familiar and surprising fashion to achieve communion with what the ancients called the spirits. Our everyday becomes extraordinary, time elasticizes, and healing manifests. Thank goodness for this process, to which I've devoted my life and about which there is much to learn. And I'll add, among many highlights, it's a real trip to hear myself playing a walking bass line on guitar while Mr. Manring soars his bass above with the coloratura of Mr. DeRevere in simpatico all along. Loosening of category, yes!
