My partner-in-soundscape Dale Inglett here wields cymbals activated by hacked vibrators driven by a custom interface using Arduino and Max/MSP. (In a perfect world, there'd be no need to follow up that perfect-in-an-imperfect-world sentence.) Dale has joined the ranks of Anvil and Paul Gilbert in exploring a seldom-diddled aural path to overtone nirvana. Field recordings round out his contributions to this offering. Dale is a brilliant and accomplished artist best known for his visual work, but the depth he brings to painting transfers fully into the sonic paracosm. I'm so pleased to have collaborated with my long-time friend (and periodic housemate). The mix is intentionally left a hair on the quiet side, so turn the lights down low, or have your AI device do the selfsame, as you image the Eustachian fantastic in what I hope is a warm audio bath to scrub the fuzzies good.
