Heikki and I played a pub in Rovaniemi called Musta Kissa (The Black Cat)...the vibe was summed up perfectly by this image Olga Blokh took of her 2022 sculpture called Coffee buddies. We are honored to have it visualize our music. Here is Olga's story about the piece:
In memory of Manne, Asko, Alpo and Kultasepo.
Puumala’s Cafe Kuittinen gives a unique opportunity to get to know the people of the village. Over the years, many people have become coffee friends. Unfortunately, the lives of these four guys ended in fall 2021 and they are now much missed.
Manne, the village’s maritime pilot, has traveled around the world on the most amazing trips, from Mexico to New Zealand. He drank red wine on the hot summer terrace and joked about November’s making a comeback soon. He also loved Jaska’s paintings. When we organized Christmas exhibitions at the cafe, he started calling the café Kuittinen Gallery.
Asko was a highly cultured gentleman who usually took ”Taavi’s donuts” and some coffee. Before the donut ended up in the mouth, it had to be grated to remove the sugars.
Alpo was a former school teacher who came every evening to drink coffee and read Helsingin Sanomat newspaper. When the coffee was drunk, he got up from the table and always neatly put the chair back under the table. He always had a lot of jokes.
Kultaseppo was the village’s jewelry artist. He made wonderful works, for which he sought inspiration from ancient local rock paintings. He also rode a scooter no matter if it was summer or winter and he always waved to us when he passed us by.

One of my favorite albums ever! It beautifully captures the sound and spirit of where we live. I was honored to be the engineer for the session, and it is a highlight in my history as a record mogul. Killick
