This recording has the distinction of being the very first time I performed live music in Europe. It was a longtime dream of mine to do so, and I couldn't have had a better experience. My musical partner Heikki Ruokangas and I have a total connection...even as we are very different in our individual musics, we share a common sensibility in our collaborations. There are many points along the way in this document where I can't really tell who is doing what. We played completely unamplified which in itself is rare and special. The acoustics of the gallery attic space let our quiet instruments broadcast and flourish. A combination of contact mics and room mics captured our overt sounds as well as the interior creaks and squeaks: the inner life of our guitars. I'm so grateful to Heikki and Anna-Katri for making this possible. Thanks as always for listening!
