This album was recorded inside a living organism, an utterly singular environment which itself is an interactive musical partner. The high desert wind kicks up, The TANK responds. A truck rumbles past and the frequencies emitted align with the overtone capacity of the hulking mass. My audible output is rewarded or challenged at turns, both loving ripostes schooling any lingering preconceptions. Lots of planning made way to lots of open exploration, and I'm so glad to have had this encounter, here synthesized into an album experience, a study of the quality of the study of the quality of delight (a paraphrase, of course). The enthusiasm of our guides into this gelatinous constellation of suspended time and space made the project a true dream: highest accolades to Tom Wasinger, who shepherded from afar until we landed, bringing his skill and knowledge and humor in equal measures; and we could not have done this without Samantha LightShade, keeper of The TANK, excellent engineer, and intuitive creative in abundance. The "we" in this equation includes equally and fully Delene Porter, the reason any of this artistic manifestation occurs. Thank you as always for listening. (I can say it too: TANK you very much!)

One of my favorite albums ever! It beautifully captures the sound and spirit of where we live. I was honored to be the engineer for the session, and it is a highlight in my history as a record mogul. Killick
