LaDonna Smith is a shining light in the improvised music world...she's constantly amazing and has been so kind and supportive to me. It's always a treat to hear her play. This night in 2007 was really special. We played as a duo and then were joined by the wonderful trumpeter Roger Ruzow (his Gold Sparkle Band was a big influence on me upon arrival to Georgia) and encyclopedic drummer Keith Leslie, gorgeously creating a sound foundation. From the evidence, it seems we all launched into the stratosphere from the first moments and never touched ground. Jeff Rackley has the knack for recording music with an enormous dynamic range, and his talents are on full display. These days were a beautiful taste of music on its own terms, wherever it needed to go. Thanks as always for listening.
