I love encountering someone with an idiosyncratic musical approach, a whole world of original thought and technique and heart. Matt Nelson's double bass playing is just that...during this recording session, our very first time duetting, I was immersed not in how he was making a particular sound, but in the depth of it throughout, the constantly morphing sonic wellspring in his commitment to invention. I was drawn to similarly unquantifiable regions in the H'arpeggione landscape/spacescape/waterways as brethren compliment. I'm grateful to have had this opportunity (beautifully captured by our supportive host Mike Ponder), and delighted to share it with you. Thanks as always for listening.
